The Child and Family Study Center serves as a laboratory school and observation site for Early Childhood Education and related majors at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.  The center experience allows university students to link educational theory with practice.

Committed to excellence in early childhood education and care, the Child and Family Study Center serves as a laboratory school for professional development in teacher education with a focus on providing comprehensive programs for children and their families within a developmentally appropriate environment.

The center operates in accordance with the University Calendar. For your convenience, we also provide a Center Calendar for parents.


The Child and Family Study center operates in two separate locations.

The Infant / Toddler Lab, serving children six weeks through three years of age, is located at: 165 Heritage Hall, 415 10th Avenue East.

The Preschool, serving children three years through six years including the 4K program operated in
conjunction with the Menomonie school district, and the office is located at: 811 6th Street East.
