UW-Stout has once again been selected to compete at the annual Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The game, Sun of the Children, was part of the thesis project on a narrative game design by MFA in Design student, Hue Vang.

“We look forward to competing again at GDC to continue showcasing of the amazing student work in game design and development at UW-Stout,” said Associate Professor Andrew Williams, program director for the BFA in Game Design and Development-Art.

In the previous contest, UW-Stout won Best in Visuals for Everend, a game created by 12 students (including Vang).

Assisting Vang in the final polishing and implementation of new features for Sun of the Children is his brother, Chuewa Vang, a student in the Game Design & Development concentration of Computer Science and Kayla Techmeier of the BFA in Game Design & Development-Art program.

UW-Stout offers two undergraduate programs, Bachelor of Fine Arts in Game Design and Development program with a focus on art and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a focus on Game Design and Development.
