Academic Support Meetings

Students meet with their ASPIRE advisor to discuss academic progress as well as other questions or concerns they may have.

First-year students


These meetings for first-year students focus on college adjustment and compliment the Advisement Center's first-year advisors role.   

Second-year students


These meetings continue on for sophomore level students. Meetings at this level can still occur every week, every other week, or once every three weeks for academic updates and/or other concerns. 

Third-year students


These meetings continue on for junior level students. Meetings at this level can still occur every week, every other week, once every three weeks, or as needed for academic updates and/or other concerns.    

Fourth-year students


These meetings continue on for senior level students. Meetings at this level can still occur every week, every other week, once every three weeks, or as needed for academic updates and/or other concerns.

ASPIRE advisors and students in Academic Meetings discuss...


  • what is going on in each class (i.e. due dates for assignments and projects, exam dates, note taking, GPA predications, etc.)
  • interaction with professors and/or room mates and class mates
  • time management, stress reduction
  • supplemental course selection
  • financial literacy (college budget planning, assistance in filling out the FAFSA, etc.)
  • campus resources and/or referral to campus resources
  • graduate school preparation
  • other miscellaneous topics as prompted by the student
