Roles and Responsibilities


The UW-Stout Physical Plant Planning and Engineering Department is responsible for the campus long and short term planning, engineering information including campus maps and floor plans, facilities documentation, project management, design and construction observation, appraisals and acquisition of property. Our department assists the Maintenance Department in obtaining information relative to the proper maintenance, repair and replacement of campus building systems.

We are responsible for requesting project through the "Small Project" process, with the Division of Facilities Development (DFD).  During project design and construction we are the liaison between the campus faculty, staff and students, and the participants in the project from the Department of Administration, DFD, Project Design Professionals, and Project Contractors. We also design, prepare documents, bid, and supervise construction of projects less than $50,000 internally.
