The University of Wisconsin-Stout, Discovery Center is pleased to host the 2021 Leadership Speaker Series.  We invite you to join us for a conversation around various leadership topics with regional, national, and international experts.  We hope to help inspire you and spark energy, growth, innovation, and excitement for you and your organization.

We are excited to offer this series at NO COST to you with thanks to partial funding from the EDA CARES grant that supports leadership and the pandemic response.

Employees at every level need to be ready for work on day one.  The pandemic of 2020 shook a lot of our interactions up in good ways, and not so good.  The basics of interactions, both face-to-face and in the online world, have shifted but also not changed.  Join us for an interactive conversation about ways to be successful in our interactions with everyone on the team and in the organization.  We will discuss impressions, handling conflict, dealing with change in the new normal, and more.

October 21 - Presenter Fred Smith

Fred SmithFred Smith Biography

Fred Smith graduated from Northern Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business in 1983. While attending NAU, Fred was a student-athlete who earned All Big Sky Honors in Football while becoming a Golden Eagle Award Recipient in the classroom.  

Fred entered the business world out of College working for Xerox Corporation in sales and sales management for 7 years. Later moving on to Eastman Kodak Company, Danka and Ricoh where he was the Western Region General Manager for their Outsourcing Divisions. After this 14-year journey, Fred ended his career as the Western Region Director of Operations supporting PWC managing their support services of receptionists, copy centers, hoteling/conference rooms, mail and records departments. 

Currently, Fred is the President of YBi Management Services. YBi is a full-service real estate firm focused on property management in California, Arizona, Nevada, Arkansas, and Louisiana. 

Fred volunteers his time in the community serving on the Loyola Marymount University Community Advisory Council and is President of the W. A. Franke College of Business National Advisory Board.  

Fred is married with 3 children and loves all sports.
