An employee of University of Wisconsin-Stout has bid $10,000 to dump a bucket of ice water on the head of Chancellor Bob Meyer as part of the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money for the ALS Association.
Meyer will make a personal donation to the association as part of the challenge, issued this week by Bruce Barker, president of Chippewa Valley Technical College. The employee will make the $10,000 donation to the Stout University Foundation scholarship fund.
"This is an extremely generous bid that will benefit students who need help to pursue their education," Meyer said. "And I will make a donation to the ALS Association. So it is a win-win for the university and the association."
The name of the employee will be revealed when Meyer has the water poured on his head at noon Sunday, Aug. 31, in the amphitheater east of the Memorial Student Center, 302 10th Ave. E. UW-Stout will post a video and photos of the event on its Facebook page and Twitter accounts.
Sunday is Move-In Day for the UW-Stout residence halls.
