University of Wisconsin Stout | Wisconsin's Polytechnic University
That’s how employers describe UW-Stout graduates. Our innovative, career-focused degrees combine applied learning and the liberal arts.
Mike Bowman has been named UW-Stout's first endowed chair in the construction department.
Bowman, an assistant professor, will be the Hans Timper Chair of Construction Leadership for three years.
The new position is designated for the person who is chair of the department and director of the undergraduate Bachelor of Science construction program, both titles that Bowman holds.
UW-Stout officials collaborated with the program advisory board, made up of alumni and construction industry professionals, to develop the position.
The Hans Timper chair is expected to provide leadership in areas of department administration, curriculum, personnel and guiding the vision of the department.
Timper, from Menomonie, was a longtime instructor in the department and remains a member of the program advisory board.
UW-Stout's program is a national leader in providing professionals in AEC — architecture, engineering, and construction — through teaching, research, scholarship, service and partnerships with business and industry.
