Online recruiting fair offers live chat, virtual ‘booth’

March 15, 2012

University of Wisconsin-Stout is offering potential students a quick and easy way to become more familiar with Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University.

At 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, they can take part in a live video chat with an Admissions counselor via CollegeWeek Live. The website is http://www.collegeweeklive.com.

Students do not need to register ahead of time, and there is no cost.

More than 300 universities and colleges from around the U.S. will be taking part in the spring online fair from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. March 21-22.

UW-Stout also will have a “booth” in the fair. When visitors stop at the site, they will see a video about the university and find links for more information about academic programs and campus.

“It’s an easy way for students to engage with us, other than a regular high school visit or college fair,” said Melissa Perez, marketing coordinator for UW-Stout Admissions.

Last year the university enrolled 29 students via CollegeWeek Live and have 22 enrolled so far for fall 2012, according to Perez.

UW-Stout set a record for enrollment last fall with 9,357 students.

Applications are being accepted for the 2012-13 academic year. Plan a campus visit at http://www.uwstout.edu/admissions/wcv.cfm.
