That’s how employers describe UW-Stout graduates. Our innovative, career-focused degrees combine applied learning and the liberal arts.
Donna Stewart, College of Management, recently was recognized by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for her 13 years of service. She received a plaque from the WIAC during a Chancellor’s Cabinet meeting.
Stewart’s tenure as UW-Stout’s women’s NCAA faculty athletic representative coincided with the merger of the Wisconsin Women’s Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WWIAC) and the Wisconsin State University Conference (WSUC) into the WIAC in 1997.
Stewart, who teaches in the operations and management department, stepped down from the volunteer position in 2010. She advocated for the student-athlete, promoted varsity athletics across campus and served on the WIAC Eligibility Exceptions Committee.
She worked as a volunteer at the WIAC indoor track championships UW-Stout hosted on several occasions.
“Donna most impacted athletics by advocating for fair and equal opportunities for all athletes on our campus,” UW-Stout Athletic Director Duey Naatz said, “and working with the conference to define and implement eligibility-related policy.”
