Week ahead features several special events on campus

Several special events are scheduled the week of Nov. 11 through Nov. 16 at UW-Stout.

On Monday, Nov. 11, Veterans Day will be observed with a roll call of service members in the U.S. who died in the past year, the national moment of silence, a photo gallery and video. Read more

It's International Week at UW-Stout. Events include a presentation Tuesday about Pakistan and a cultural fair and show Wednesday by some of the nearly 300 international students on campus. Read more

On Tuesday, comedian Alice Wetterlund will perform at 8 p.m. in the Terrace of the Memorial Student Center. She has toured nationally, is on MTV2's "Girl Code" and has been in national commercials for Budweiser, BMW and Maxwell House. The free show is sponsored by Blue Devil Productions.

Another free Blue Devil Productions show is scheduled Thursday. Big Tree Bonsai, a rock band, will perform at 8 p.m. in the Terrace of the student center. The show is part of the Thursday Nite Out series.

Also Thursday, peace scholar David Cortright from the University of Notre Dame will speak about the power of nonviolent protests at 7:15 p.m. in the Great Hall of the student center. Read more

On Saturday, Jazz from Harvey begins at 7 p.m. in Harvey Hall Theatre. The concert will feature the Blue Devils Jazz Band and guest artist the Troppo Big Band Jazz Orchestra from Chippewa Falls. Tickets are $5.

Also Saturday, the Blue Devils football team wraps up its season with a Senior Day home game against UW-Stevens Point at 1 p.m. at Don and Nona Williams Stadium.
