Transfer students receive scholarships

Three students, transferring to University of Wisconsin-Stout for the 2013-14 academic year, are recipients of the Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Scholarship.

 The scholarship is only available to members of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society transferring dCarolyn Xiongirectly from two-year colleges.

The students are:

Carolyn Xiong, Rothschild, transferring from Northcentral Technical College, Wausau, will major in management with a business management concentration. She will receive $2,500.

Kelsey Davis, Litchfield, Minn., transferring from Lake Region State College, Devils Lake, N.D., will major in early childhood education. She will receive $1,500.

Rachael Schwenn, Eagle River, transferring from Nicolet Area Technical College, Rhinelander, will major in early childhood education. She will receive $1,500.

To be eligible students also must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25, complete the application by a designated date, write a short essay and be accepted at UW-Stout for the fall semester.
