Students place at information technology national competition

A group of information technology management students from University of Wisconsin-Stout fared well in a national competition, earning a second place and two honorable mention awards.

They competed April 4-7 in the Association of Information Technology Professionals National Collegiate Conference in St. Louis.

From left, Elliott Stephens, Cody Lewandowski, Jacob Scott, Trevor Blankenship and Jacob Lube.Jacob Scott, of Waupun, and Trevor Blankenship, of Osseo, Minn., were runner-up in the Network Design competition while Cody Lewandowski, of Fall Creek, and Elliott Stephens, of Almond, received an honorable mention.

In the Office Solutions competition Jacob Lube, of Marshfield, and Blankenship took an honorable mention.

“The trip was a success. We took time to network with other schools, vendors and employers and participated in several discussion panels and professional meetings,” Lewandowski said.
Two students, Lube and Blankenship, also passed Microsoft certification tests while at the conference.

About 500 students from across the country competed.

Holly Yuan, information technology management program director, is the students’ adviser.
