Dance Team to hold clinic for children, perform at game

The UW-Stout Dance Team will be a little bigger and have a few more moves than usual when it performs Saturday, Oct. 13, at halftime of the football game against defending national champion UW-Whitewater.

The Dance Team is holding a clinic starting at 11:30 a.m. that day at the Sports and Fitness Center for children from kindergarten through fifth grade. The cost is $35 and includes a T-shirt and a snack.

Dance Team 2012The children will perform a short routine with the 22 Dance Team members at halftime of the 2 p.m. game at Williams Stadium. Halftime will include introductions of seven new members of the UW-Stout Athletic Hall of Fame.

“It will be fun for the kids and their parents. We want to promote dance in the community, and our Dance Team members are good role models,” said Megan Widor, team captain. Widor is a senior from St. Cloud, Minn., who is majoring in hotel, restaurant and tourism management.

The Dance Team performs at halftime of all home football games and many home basketball games, does community volunteer work and attends regional and national competitions.
