Her nomination states: "Diane is very loyal and dedicated to her work and the Stout campus. She has taken on several new tasks, including freshman orientation presentations for the Student Business Office, becoming a lead worker on veterans benefits and set-up of the PeopleSoft system for student fees. The veterans program has expanded greatly, and Diane has helped to ensure that our veteran students get the benefits they have earned. Diane goes out of her way to help everyone, encourage others and work hard to make sure all customers are treated properly."

Chancellor Charles W. Sorensen presents each winner with a certificate of recognition, a UW-Stout coffee mug and a check for $50.
Students, faculty and staff may nominate a classified staff member who demonstrates a commitment to excellence and the university community.
The award, previously called the Classified Employee of the Month award, was established by the chancellor to recognize classified employees at UW-Stout. It has been slightly revised and renamed.
