A UW-Stout student organization will try to prevent that kind of romantic confusion on campus Thursday, Feb. 14, which is Valentine’s Day. Blue Devil Productions is holding Stop Light Open Mic night at 8 p.m. at the Terrace in the Memorial Student Center.
Because of the special occasion, a twist is being added to the typical Open Mic fare of student musicians, comedians, magicians and other impromptu performers. During Stop Light Open Mic, those attending are being asked to wear colors that correspond with traffic signals to indicate their relationship status.
Wearing red will mean stop: That person is taken. Yellow will mean proceed with caution: It’s complicated. Green will mean go, go go: That person is single and ready to mingle.
The event will be a chance for students to have fun with the special person in their life or help them find that special person.
Coinciding with Stop Light Open Mic, from 5 p.m. to midnight the Skylight Market in the student center is offering a special price on heart-shaped pizzas. A 12-inch pizza with two sodas will be $6.99.
Blue Devil Productions is celebrating its 10th birthday during the 2012-13 school year. It stages concerts, comedy shows, films and special events throughout the academic year.
A separate show featuring UW-Stout student performers is coming up. Stout’s Got Talent will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at the Terrace.
