    Learn@UW/D2L - AWS Outage Affecting 3rd Party Services - RESOLVED
    Tuesday, February 28

    RESOLVED (5:26 PM) The Blackboard Collaborate Ultra and Respondus services are operating as expected.

    UPDATE (4:30 PM): Amazon has closed the outage and marked as resolved as of 3:49 PM (CT). However, some services may still be affected while the resolution is underway.

    Blackboard Collaborate Ultra: Impact from AWS Service Outage - RESOLVED

    RESOLVED (5:26 p.m.) Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is functioning as expected.

    UPDATE (5:15 p.m.) Blackboard reports that the Collaborate Ultra services are operating as expected. Users may continue to experience problems with uploading files into their session.

    Users may experience intermittent issues with accessing recordings and loading content into their Blackboard Collaborate Ultra session from ~12:08 p.m. to 4:47 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. This was due to issues impacting Amazon Web Services (AWS), which affected many other services.

Learn@UW-Stout Access 

New instructors must return their signed contract to Human Resources and activate their UW-Stout email account to be integrated into Learn@UW-Stout. Learn@UW-Stout accounts are created utilizing our Human Resources ERP system.

Course Creation

All UW-Stout course sections are automatically set up as individual courses in Learn@UW-Stout each semester. All courses in Learn@UW-Stout are created "active".  Note:  Students will not be able to access their courses until the course start date.  Students will see the course start date listed in parenthesis next to each course in their Learn@UW-Stout My Courses listing.

Combine Course Sections

If instructors are teaching a course with multiple sections, such as undergraduate/graduate sections or lecture, discussion and lab sections, and want those sections combined into one Learn@UW-Stout course, please note the following change to the Course Combine Request Process.  ***Beginning with the spring 2017 semester*** instructors will log in to Access Stout and go to Self Service > Faculty Center > My Schedule to select the course sections they want combined in Learn@UW-Stout.  Please click on the knowledgebase article for step-by-step instructions.
