An eStout student officially graduating* with an eStout undergraduate degree may have an opportunity to receive a laptop at no additional cost upon graduation; this is called the Laptop Transfer Program.
Students who have participated in the eStout Program with a minimum of 32 qualifying credits and are officially graduating from UW-Stout with an eStout undergraduate degree may be eligible to participate in the program.
The University will contact eligible students during the term that the student has applied for graduation and inform them of the program application process and deadlines. Currently, approved graduating eStout students will be able to have the ownership of a two-year old computer transferred to them at no additional cost.
If a student does not graduate when planned, the Laptop Transfer Agreement is void.
*Officially Graduating means the successful completion of ALL program requirements for an eStout undergraduate degree by the end of the term after which a student plans to graduate (this includes: co-op, internship, field experience, student teaching and any other requirements not completed).

It is recommended that you browse the software titles available from the Wisconsin Integrated Software Catalog (WISC) before you graduate. Because of a change to the campus' Microsoft licensing it may be more advantageous than ever to take advantage of student pricing. If Microsoft Office 2010 or Office for Mac 2011 is currently installed on your laptop, its licensing will expire and become non-functional within 180 days of leaving campus. Microsoft Office is available on WISC and is an outstanding value. Eligibility for purchasing through WISC ends, without exception, on the last day of a student's last-enrolled semester. Another purchase HP-users may wish to consider is Microsoft Windows 7. Should a laptop require a hard drive replacement or OS reload for any reason in the future, Windows 7 will allow for the operating system to be replaced.
Of unique concern to our Apple graduates is the installed version of Microsoft Windows 7. Windows will expire in the same fashion that Microsoft Office will expire, within 180 days of leaving campus. The Apple OS will be unaffected. To remove Boot Camp (Windows 7) from an Apple to avoid the boot prompt and recover the hard drive space utilized by it, please follow these instructions: How to remove Boot Camp (Windows 7) from Graduate Student Apples.
The Technology Help Desk does not support laptops after transfer/graduation. UW-Stout software is non-transferable. Please see your Transfer Agreement for a list of applications that must be removed or visit the Technology Help Desk to have your computer reimaged to graduate-ready state.
