Change in Criminal Background Check Process for New Employees

Effective immediately, departments will no longer need to give potential new hires the Background Check Authorization Form to complete. Rather, departments should complete the online Background Check Request Form for only the candidate who has been offered and accepted a position. Submission of the online form will trigger an AskHR ticket. An HR representative will initiate communication to the new hire and request completion of the criminal background check through E-Link, a secure online portal with GIS Services. Once the criminal background check has been processed, the person requesting the check will receive an AskHR email indicating the check has been completed. This new process is available for all unclassified and student hires.
