Campus Visitors

In order to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, UW-Stout is working hard to limit external exposures from those outside the immediate UW-Stout community. To do so, we have implemented various procedures for various types of visitors. In all instances, it is important that visitors connect with the campus department they plan to visit in advance.

Visitors Guide

Before visiting campus we ask that you review our COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Campus Tour or Preview Day Guests

For families seeking opportunities to visit campus, please visit the Admissions Campus Tours page to learn about the various options to safely visit campus in person or virtually.

Residence Hall Guests

Guests are not permitted in the residence halls except for those assisting the student during the initial move-in process. Guests from other residence halls will not be permitted in halls they do not live in. For additional information regarding guests in residence hall facilities, please visit the Housing COVID-19 site.

Cafeteria Guests

Per the COVID-19 dining protocols, only students living on campus will be allowed in cafeteria locations.

Vendor/Invited Guests

This type of visitor includes a person, who is not a Stout employee, that is on campus to perform a business purpose. Delivery personnel are not considered a vendor and are not required to complete this registration. Vendors with multiple employees reporting to campus are only required to complete one form per day (every employee is NOT required to complete a registration form individually).

Vendors/invited guests doing business on campus are required to complete a Vendor/Invited Guest Registration Form on a daily basis. Please coordinate with your campus contact/host for questions on this registration process. The purpose of this registration process is to provide the campus with daily knowledge of campus guests and to support contact tracing/tracking during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Events & Event Exemption Request Form

All campus events shall be entered into the campus master calendar. This ensures that campus event coordinators can be notified of any changes, should the need arise.

During spring 2021 semester, campus-sponsored programs/events will be limited to current faculty, staff, and students. This applies to both on-campus and off-site events. On-campus events will be capped at 50 people indoors and 75 people outdoors, and they must adhere to all social distancing and masking requirements. Stout-sponsored events that occur off-site will adhere to participant maximums, social distancing and masking requirements.

Individuals or departments that would like to request an exemption to the campus-sponsored programs/events guidelines, must submit an Event Exemption Request Form for the Chancellor’s approval. No external events or programs will be hosted on-campus. Departments or units may bring in an external speaker to present to campus stakeholders. Guidelines for spring semester events will be determined at a later time.

Protest and Demonstration Procedures

Please read the Protest and Demonstration Procedures that guide the freedom of expression on our campus within the boundaries of lawful behavior and applicable policies.
