Co-op Ambassador
Position Description

Dates of Position: 9/2013 - 5/2014

Start Date/Training Date: Tuesday, September, 3, 2013

Hourly wage: $10.00

Hours per week: Average 7-10 hour per week

Co-op Ambassadors are committed to:

Promoting the UW-Stout Co-op program by participating in peer to peer marketing and outreach activities.

Participating in Career Services workshops, programs, and events

Playing an instrumental role in implementing new and exciting Co-op program initiatives

Performing a public relations role and act as a student ambassador

Engaging in the following special projects/assignments related to:

1.     Office Support – support daily office tasks, review student resumes in Stout Careerlink, post new co-op positions, maintain quality of posted Co-op position, answering student questions, and inputting data (Skills needed: detail orientated, able to follow direction, work independently, and multitasking)

2.     Technology – teaching students about Stout Careerlink, updating blogs, utilize social media, provide co-op information via internet (Skills: website knowledge, strong written communication skills, technically savvy and work independently)

3.     Outreach – reach out to academic organizations and clubs, present program information to potential students and share co-op personal experiences (Skills: Outgoing, strong presentation skills, organized and excellent written communication)

4.     Marketing/Events – market career events, Stout Careerlink, represent Career Services at special events such as Career Conference, Open Houses, and other events (Skills: creative, outgoing,  attention to detail, and organized)

5.     Interviewing - conduct mock interviews with UW-Stout students, provide feedback and additional resources (Skills: strong communication skills, understand interview processes and techniques, and ability to give feedback)

Characteristics of an Ambassador:          

  • Full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing
  • Successfully participating in or completed at least one term of UW-Stout Co-op
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as a team as well as independently
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Flexible, friendly and positive attitude
  • Ability to represent UW-Stout Career Services
  • Creative (ability to generate new ideas)
  • Complete tasks based on established timeline
    **Involvement/membership in student organization is preferred, but not required**
