Meet the Faculty

  »  Denise Schulz

Denise Schulz has been a lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater since 2002. Prior to that she taught high school business education in Janesville, Milton, and Oak Creek for six years and worked in the sign and display industry for two years. She earned her BBA and MSE degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Denise is interested in investigating innovative teaching strategies and integrating technology into education.

John SmithJohn Smith has been teaching as a lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater since 2006 teaching courses related to marketing education including methods and work-based learning programs. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing from UW-Whitewater and a Master of Science degree in Business Education from UW-Whitewater as well. Prior to teaching at UW-Whitewater, he taught secondary business and marketing education at Hartford Union High School in Hartford, Wisconsin. In addition to teaching courses, he supervised their business and marketing cooperative program, the DECA student organization, and the school store. Prior to entering teaching full time, John spent three and half years working as a Marketing Communications Manager and a Product Manager at two different companies in Michigan and Wisconsin. His interests include rigor, relevance, and student achievement in marketing education programs.

  »  Lila Waldman

Lila WaldmanDr. Lila Waldman earned her BS degree in Business Education from UW-Stevens Point, her MS degree in Business Teacher Education from UW-Madison, and her Ph.D. in Vocational Education from the University of Minnesota. She has secondary teaching experience in three Wisconsin high schools, taught at Madison Area Technical College, and served as Associate Dean in the Business Division at Fox Valley Technical College. She taught Business Education at Murray State University in Kentucky and Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania before returning to Wisconsin to teach at UW-Whitewater in 2005. Dr. Waldman is active in many professional organizations, including Wisconsin Business Education Association, National Business Education Association, Delta Pi Epsilon, and the International Society for Business Education. A native of Marquette County, Wisconsin, she has worked in private business in a variety of office positions and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Lakeside Farm Implements.
