Accessing CommonSpot

If you are working for an office, department, or student organization that has begun using CommonSpot, UW-Stout's new content management software, you may need to be given access to edit certain Web pages.

To gain access to CommonSpot, complete the CommonSpot Access Request Form[Online]. The completed form will be automatically sent to our Web Development staff who will notify you when your access is granted. Our Web Development staff will then be available to help you get started maintaining your site using CommonSpot.

Faculty/Staff Access to the Static Web Server

If you are faculty or staff taking charge of an existing Web site and do not yet have access to UW-Stout's Web server, you can complete the Faculty/Staff Access to the Static Web Server Access Request Form [Online] to gain access. When the submitted, the form will be sent to our Web Development staff who will notify you when your access is granted. Our Web Development staff will then be available to help you get started maintaining your site using Dreamweaver, Contribute, or WS_FTP.

Student Organization Access to the Static Web Server

If you are a student taking charge of maintaining an existing student organization Web site (not in CommonSpot) and do not yet have access to UW-Stout's Web server, print, complete, and have your advisor sign the Student Organization Web Server Access Form [PDF].

Return the completed form to room 212 in Millennium Hall. You will be notified when your access is granted. Our Web Development staff will then be available to help you get started maintaining your site using Dreamweaver, Contribute, or WS_FTP.
