Holiday Decorations

 In all state owned buildings and for departments housed in leased property the following safety precautions regarding Christmas Decorations must be followed:

     Christmas Trees

NO natural Christmas Trees or wreaths will be allowed in state owned buildings.

     Tree Lights

Use only Underwriter laboratory approved lighting equipment.

     Decorations   

Base covers of cotton or fabric must be flame proofed or of flame proof materials. If decorating doors, use only foil papers instead of paper gift wrap or other material. 

Use only non-combustible ornaments and decorations.

Organizational Structure:  Safety and Risk Management is part of the Health and Safety Unit at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.  James Uhlir, is the Executive Director.  His office is located in the University Services Building, Room 130 and can be reached at 715/232-2188. 

University Student Health, University Police and Parking are also a part of this Unit.
