How much does it cost to play?

Check out the League Schedule for cost information.

What do I have to do to get into the Playoffs at the end of the regular season?

At the end of the regular season, each team is ranked with the rest of the teams within their division; provided their team has not forfeited twice and they maintain a 2.5 point sportsmanship rating average (for those sports that require a sportsmanship rating). Teams that have finished the regular season and have an acceptable sportsmanship rating are eligible for playoffs. Playoffs last anywhere from one to three weeks.

What is CoRec and what are the ratio of women to men on those CoRec teams?

CoRec teams are comprised of both men and women playing together on the same team. Many sports offer CoRec divisions, including sand volleyball, flag football, softball, 6 person volleyball, basketball, kickball, and 4 on 4 volleyball. Each sport has particular rules in regards to the number of men and women playing at the same time.

Refer to Rules and Information.

What does a forfeit mean, and how can I avoid getting one?

A team forfeits if they fail to have the minimum number of players present at game time. OR if a team fails to show up for their scheduled game they will receive a forfeit. If a team forfeits for what ever reason they are assessed a $10 forfeit fee. It is the entire teams responsibility to know when it's games are scheduled and to show up on time (it is recommended that teams show up 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time so that games may begin on time). If a team forfeits twice it is removed from the league and will not be allowed to compete in playoffs.

What are the captain's responsibilities on a team?

Each captain for an Intramural Sports team is responsible for registering his/her team during the registration period. In addition, captains are responsible for communicating with all of his/her team members so that each player knows when and where the team is scheduled to play. Failure to communicate this information may result in a team forfeiting. All schedules are posted on the Intramural Sports bulletin boards located outside of the University Recreation office in the lower level of the Sports & Fitness Center. Captains are also responsible for knowing and informing their team members of the intramural sports rules, policies, and procedures.
