Stipends

Upward Bound students earn money for UB participation.

Stipends are given for full participation at regular UB tutoring sessions, meetings and Saturday events during the academic year. In the summer, UB students earn a weekly stipend. Over a four-year period, a student who participates fully in UB programming can earn over $2,000 in stipends!

A student  can earn $40 a month by meeting with their advisor weekly and attending Saturday meetings.  Students can earn $60 a week for six weeks during the summer program.  Failure to attend meetings will result in a reduced stipend.

Stipends are calculated quarterly and will be sent out in December (for Sept-Nov), March (for December-February), June (for March-May) and August for summer school.
