In Office 2007 a lot of things change. One of the first things you will notice when using any of the new Office 2007 applications is that your menu is now gone. Instead, you are presented with the ribbon.
So what happened to the file menu?
The file menu has been replaced by the Office Button, which can be found in the upper left hand corner of your screen.
To access the Office Button, just click it. Once you do, you will see all of the familiar commands from the file menu.
The Office Button makes it easy to find and accomplish many tasks. For example, say you are looking to save your document as a PDF. All you have to do is hold your mouse over Save As and you are presented with bunch of options. Select PDF or XPS and you are done. Whenever you see an arrow to the right of a command it means that there are more options available.

The Office Button menu will also provide access to the program options. When using Word, PowerPoint, or Excel there will be a button labeled options. Below is the Options button from Word 2007.
More information about the Office Button can be found on Microsoft's Office 2007 training page. Click here for Microsoft web-based training on the ribbon.
