Is it better to send or receive a PDF?

No one really knows, but converting files to PDF in the new Microsoft Office 2007 system is now easier than it ever has been before. After the installation of a simple plug-in, your Office application will be able to convert files to PDF in two simple steps.

To start converting, follow the directions under Install PDF or XPS plugin, then follow the directions under Converting to PDF.

Install PDF or XPS plug-in:

  1. Go to the Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS Add-in for 2007 Microsoft Office programs and follow the instructions on that page.
  2. After you install the Save as PDF or XPS add-in, you can export your file to PDF or XPS.

Converting to PDF:

  1. Open the file of your choice (Word document, Excel spreadsheet, PowerPoint presentation)
  2. Click on the Office ButtonOffice button , mouse over Save As, then select PDF or XPS 
    save as pdf
  3. In the Publish as PDF or XPS dialogue box, specify a file name and click Publish
