Appendix A: Survey Results

Research Question: What do students find helpful when learning about race?

To help students learn about race I used a number of different activities. All of the following activities were done during the 9th and 10th week of class. During week 11 students filled out a survey asking them for their feedback about the race-related learning activities. For each activity they used the following rating system.

1.   I found it helpful in learning about race and/or about discrimination

2.   I did not find it helpful in learning about race and/or discrimination

3.   I didn't read it/wasn't there for that activity

4.   I don't remember it

Below is a summary of students' responses, indicating how many students (out of the 37 who took the survey) found the activity to be helpful in learning about race and/or discrimination.

Student Responses (n = 37 students):

The Activity Was Helpful in Learning About Race and/or Discrimination
