Learning Question and Problem

The question: What activities do students find as most effective in engaging their interest and increasing their understanding and application of developmental  theories and concepts.

The problem:  HDFS-124 (Human Development:  Early Childhood) is a survey course dealing with an in-depth study of development from prenatal through age eight. The information to cover in a semester is enormous.

What my concern

(problem) is how to increase student engagement so as to enhance the studentsą ability to take concepts and integrate them into a more meaningful understanding of development.

Procedure:  Throughout the semester students will participate in a variety of activities that will revolve around development.  After each activity students will reflect (anonymously) how the activity may have impacted their understanding

/learning of the concepts.  At the end of the course I will ask the students for feedback to which activities they found overall most effective and why.
