2. In
order to register for your classes it is necessary for you to complete
the Payment Plan Agreement available on-line at
http://www.uwstout.edu/stubus/PDF/ppagree.pdf. Please print
it off, fill it in and mail it with your registration form.
3. If
you are a returning student to UW-Stout, you can register via
Access Stout if already accepted as a student.
4. To
register for summer school classes as a new student, fill out the

5. Obtain
your schedule/registration confirmation either by printing a copy from
the Web using Access Stout after you finish registering, or by picking
one up when you register at Registration and Records, 109 Bowman Hall. A
confirmation will be sent to you if you register by mail.
Note: Registration through Access Stout will not be available after May
16, 2008. When Access Stout is no longer available, registrations and
add/drops for the Summer Session will need to be processed in the
Registration and Records Office prior to the beginning of class. If you
have not registered for a class prior to its start date, the
instructor’s signature is required.
If a course you are registering for requires a prerequisite you
completed at an institution other than UW-Stout, then you must forward
an official transcript to UW-Stout Admissions Office to confirm
completion of the prerequisite.
Graduate Students
All
Graduate Students: All
students enrolling for graduate credit must have applied and been
accepted by the Graduate School to a program or as a non-degree seeking
(special) student before they can register for graduate credits. If you
need information on applying, contact the
Graduate School in 130 Bowman Hall, phone 715/232-2211.
Graduate enrollees
must consult with their graduate program director/adviser to ensure
registration in appropriate courses. Selected programs require this
consultation before a Registration Advisement Hold will be removed. The
student is responsible for adhering to Graduate School and university
policies.
Continuing
and Newly Accepted Graduate Students:
(for registration purposes,
continuing students are those enrolled as graduate students the semester
before Summer Session) After consulting with your adviser,
you may begin registering February 25 online using Access Stout or by
submitting your completed registration form to the Registration and
Records Office.
New and
Re-entry Graduate Students:
Be sure to read the information above for "all graduate students."
Students who have not been registered continuously since being admitted
(re-entry students) who wish to register online should complete the
Graduate Student Records Information Update and Residency Verification
form (104-0122) found
online, and submit it to the Graduate School, 130 Bowman Hall, Menomonie,
WI 54751-0790 (fax 715/232-2413).
This must be received at least two days prior to the date you wish to
register.
New
Graduate Students
who want to register in person or by mail, should submit a completed
registration form to:
The
Graduate School
130 Bowman Hall
University of Wisconsin-Stout
Menomonie, WI 54751
Your registration
will be forwarded to the Registration and Records Office for further
processing.
Registration Cancellation
If you register
and decide not to attend Summer Session, you must notify the
Registration and Records Office immediately in writing or by email to
registrar@uwstout.edu. Because of your registration request, spaces
in classes are reserved for you and cannot be given to other students
unless you notify Registration and Records that you are not planning to
attend. It is the student's responsibility to verify that the
cancellation was received and processed.
By the act
of registration, a student accepts the responsibility of fee payment.
Non-attendance does not constitute a cancellation of registration.
Failure to attend courses for which you are registered will result in
assessment of appropriate fees and a possible mark of “FN” or "FS" in
the course. You may cancel prior to the beginning of the course by
calling 715/232-1660 or -1655, and mailing a follow-up letter to the
Registration and Records Office, 109 Bowman Hall, UW-Stout, Menomonie,
WI 54751. UW System policy requires that notification is to be in
writing.
First Day Attendance Policy
Students who do
not attend the first class meeting of a course, or who do not notify the
instructor or department chair that they will be absent for special
reasons, may, at the instructors option, be dropped from that course if
and only if other students are waiting to enroll at that time. Please
process a Program Card for each class you are not attending or a
withdrawal from school form if appropriate.
Program Changes (Add/Drop)
Program changes
may be made online via
Access Stout prior to May 16, 2008, or by listing the courses to be
added or dropped on a Program Card. This card should
be presented at the Registration and Records Office, 109 Bowman Hall
(Hours: Monday through Friday from
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.). Note: Registration through Access
Stout will be available until approximately May 16, 2008. After Access
Stout is no longer available, all registration and add/drops for the
Summer Session must be processed in the Registration and Records Office
prior to the beginning of class. Instructor's signature is required if
you add or drop after a class begins. Mail registrations must be
received at least five working days prior to class start date.
Please retain the
registration confirmation form as a receipt. It will be helpful in
establishing the drop date when applying for any refund of fees.
The
official date of
drop will be the date the Program Card is received in the
Registration and Records Office. A course dropped after the midpoint of
the course may result in the grade of “F” being recorded. Failure to
attend courses for which you are registered does not constitute a drop.
You will be charged full fee for them.
Program changes
should not be confused with the refund schedule. Please note that the
refund schedule is counted from the first day of the session. Refunds
will be computed as of the date the change card is received in the
Registration and Records Office. |
