University Housing
We are pleased to offer you several options for summer housing. Two
halls are open for your convenience – North Hall and Red Cedar Hall.
Many students chose to live on campus because it is hassle-free. You
don’t have to arrange for a telephone line, cable TV, high-speed
internet, utilities, garbage
collection, or lawn mowing – all are included in the price!
North Hall offers both double and single rooms, is close to
classrooms and the library, and provides a more traditional residence
hall experience. Rooms in North Hall are equipped with beds, dressers,
closets, desks, bookcase, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, cable TV
connection, high-speed internet connection and local phone service. The North Hall basement offers a
huge multi-person gourmet kitchen, a large laundry facility, a
well-equipped game room, a weight/exercise room, a computer lab, and a
number of meeting/study spaces. North Hall is served by one elevator,
and students can bring in their own air conditioners (for an extra fee).
Red Cedar Hall, Stout’s new suite-style building, offers more of an
“apartment” feeling to it. Opened in the fall of 2005, Red Cedar offers
4 person suites that have single bedrooms, a living room, kitchenette,
and private bath room facilities. The kitchenettes offer a full sized
refrigerator, a microwave, sink, and cabinets. Rooms are equipped with
a bed, dresser, desk, bookcase, cable TV connection, high-speed internet
connection and local phone
service. Full kitchens, including a stove, cook-top, refrigerator,
sink, pizza ovens, etc. are located on every floor. A compact laundry
room can also be found on each floor. The lower level of the building
has a game/TV room and some small meeting rooms. Red Cedar Hall is
served by two elevators and is completely air conditioned.
You can get more information on-line at
www.uwstout.edu/housing, by emailing us at
housing@uwstout.edu, or by calling our office at 715-232-1121. The
weekly cost to stay on campus is $40 for double rooms, $50 for single
rooms, and $60 for suite rooms. If you are staying less than a week,
nightly rates (with and without linens) are available. To reserve a
room, you can complete an on-line reservation form and submit it to our
office or stop by the University Housing office in room 170 Price
Commons.
Identification Cards
A Stout OneCard (student
identification card) is issued to each student at no charge
and signifies status as an active member of the UW-Stout community. It
also serves as an official student identification card.
To obtain a Stout OneCard, the student must present a valid
government issued photo ID card when they report to 160 Price Commons to
have a photo taken. The Stout OneCard will be sent directly to the
student’s home address in a UW-Stout branded business size envelope.
Once the card is received, it must be activated. Students can easily
activate their Stout
OneCard online.
During activation, preferences are selected for receiving financial
refunds from the university. In addition, students are offered a free
MasterCard debit/checking account (not
a credit card, there must be funds available for purchases)
called the “OneAccount.” The OneAccount may serve as a primary bank
account allowing students to use their campus ID card to complete
transactions anytime, anywhere a MasterCard is accepted.
Funds can be deposited into a Flexline account, which is an on-campus
debit account that can be used to purchase meals, school supplies,
clothing, tickets, postage, photo copies, resume printing, health
services, parking permits, beverages and snacks. These funds remain
active and usable while a student is actively enrolled. Flexline funds
are for use on-campus only and cannot be used anywhere outside of the
university.
Office hours are 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. More
information about the Stout OneCard, the OneAccount or the Flexline
account, call 715/232-2887 (choose
option 2).

If you need to change your designated hometown, do so online on the Address
