Parental Notification for Underage Alcohol Violations
The University of Wisconsin-Stout responds to all underage drinking offenses received by students, whether on-campus or in the Menomonie Community. First offense underage consumption citations will result in either a letter from the Dean of Students Office to the offending student for off-campus incidents or a meeting with the Hall Director and subsequent sanction letter for on-campus residents. Student will be notified that beginning with a second underage drinking offense, parental notification will occur. Parents will be notified by letter written by one of the two Investigating/Hearing officers. However, if the Dean of Students or either of the two Investigating/Hearing Officers feels it is not in the best interest of the student to notify parents, they have the prerogative of deciding not to do so.
