Welcome from the Dean of Students Office
The Dean of Students Office provides service and consultation through a number of supportive programs and departments on campus. We will be able to answer a wide variety of questions, or we will know where to find the answers you are looking for. We hope that you find our office a friendly and a useful campus resource.
Our goal, and that of the whole Student Services team, is to help students achieve academic and personal growth. When personal challenges, family issues or academic problems interfere with students’ ability to grow and succeed on this campus, we want to know about it so we can help find the information or services you need.
As the staff of the Dean of Students office, we are committed to promoting a campus climate that fosters civility and that encourages the full and free participation of all students. To that end, our responsibilities include:
- special circumstance withdrawals
- academic dismissal appeals
- course drop policy appeals
- commencement coordination
- academic and non-academic student conduct
- ombudsman services
- compliance issues
- advisement of Stout Student Association
- point of contact for faculty with student concerns
