Location and Hours
Location Student Health Services is located on the north end of campus at Broadway and First Avenue West, across from Wigen Hall. The address is 103 1st Avenue West, Menomonie, WI 54751.
Hours The hours are 8:00 a.m. -- 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during Fall and Spring semesters. Winterm Hours are 12 pm - 4:30 pm, Monday -Friday. Student Health Services is closed during holidays, school breaks and the summer (June -- August).
Eligibility
All students who have paid fees are entitled to the services at Student Health Services. Spouses who are not students, and/or dependents of students are not eligible for Health Services care.
Appointments
Scheduling of appointments can made by calling 232-1314 or stopping in to speak with the Clinic Scheduler. *Note* Appointments cannot be scheduled between noon and 1pm. A triage nurse is available to answer your medical questions and provide you with up-to-date medical advice at any time. Call 232-1386.
Staff
Student Health Services staff includes: Director/Administrator, Physician/Medical Director, Registered Nurse (3), Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, Medical Technologist, Clinic Scheduler, Receptionist, and Business Associate. Click here for a complete listing of personnel and qualifications.
Services Available
- Standard office procedures for diagnosis and treatment of illness and injuries, health education and information, and referral.
- Providing cooperation of continuation of other treatment programs already under way.
- Physical examination: athletic participation, student teaching, routine pre-employment, limited pre-operative.
- Preventive health screening:
- Men's health care-TSE and others.
- Women's health care-BSE, pap smears, pregnancy testing and others.
- Diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections.
- Confidential HIV testing.
- Minor surgical procedures, such as dressing changes.
- Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Tetanus, Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis skin testing, Flu shots, Meningitis Vaccine - Menactra.
- Laboratory tests.
- Medications and contraceptives available for a nominal fee.
- Crutch loan service and orthopedic supplies are available for a nominal fee.

- X-rays and dental care
- Refractions for eyeglasses
- Pharmacy
- Referral physician care
- Emergency room visits
- Ambulance service
- Severe trama care
- Hospitalization
Emergencies After Hours
When the Student Health Services is closed, students who require immediate medical care for acute illness or injury can receive care at the local clinic and hospital-Red Cedar Clinic/Werth Medical Center-Mayo Health System. All costs are the responsibility of the student.
