Memorial Student Center
What is the Service Center?
Located on the lower level of the recently renovated Memorial Student Center, the Service Center offers campus information, and printing and project services to any student, staff, or patron of the building. The Service Center also is available to assist with online ticket sales for various events and shows put on by departments, organizations, and members of the campus. If you ever find yourself unsure of who to contact for a campus related problem, the Service Center is your best bet for assured guidance and information to a solution.

Service Center Services
Information
The Service Center is currently the main information line for the UW-Stout Campus which means you can call or stop by and ask about anything campus related and if we don’t have an answer for you, we’ll do our best to find you the person who does.
Spiral Coil Binding
Up to 220 pages of normal paper can be coil bound using our punch binding machine. This also includes a front and back polyvinyl cover and sizes up to 11”
Lamination
Up to 25” of hot -- two-sided lamination, or 51” of cold -- single-sided lamination, can be accommodated here at the Service Center. Various thickness are allowed but if you’re unsure, call us up and we can let you know.
Faxing
Send or receive your faxes directly through the Service Center, local or long distance. Just stop by and give us the information and we’ll take care of the rest.
Mail Services
The Service Center has a mail drop just outside our main service desk which can be used for both on campus and off campus mail deliveries picked up around 2:20PM. The mail slot is approximately 10”x1.5” so plan your packaging carefully. Anything larger can be taken to the local post office.
Ticket Sales
The Service Center is your place to buy tickets for almost any of the upcoming ticketed concerts and shows. Tickets can be bought at any time the Service Center is open, but you can also purchase tickets yourself online @tickets.uwstout.edu. If you have questions about any ticket services, feel free to call and ask.
Billiard Checkout
Two pool tables are provided for use in the Memorial Student Center. Cues, balls, chalk, and other supplies can be checked out from the Service Center using your student ID.
Table Tent and Poster Approval
Want to advertise your upcoming event or program, or just let people know about your organization? There are four locations in the MSC where flyers can be hung and just under 100 table displays for use as well. Come to the Service Center to get your materials approved and they’ll be up for two weeks or until the day after your event, whichever comes first. Service Center Products
Copies/Prints
Color or Black and white copies can be made up to 11"x17" and we can handle printing of documents up to 12"x18" in most standard configurations. You can choose to email your files to servicecenter@uwstout.edu and we can print them upon your arrival, or bring in your flash drive and we'll print right from it.

Large Format Printing
Our large format printer can print documents up to 42" in width and 125" in length on a variety of materials. Currently we offer plain paper, a thicker cardstock paper, high gloss paper, and a rugged vinyl option which can also be punched with brass grommets for hanging during outdoor events.
Balloons
Available in a range of colors, our latex balloons are a standard for the Service Center. We also offer a smaller quantity of Mylar balloons for a number of occasions.
Photo Printing
Our FujiFilm photo printing kiosk accepts almost any form of storage medium which can be brought in and printed directly from your USB flash drive , camera memory card, or even your photo CD's. Prints are available in 8"x10", 5"x7", or 4"x6".
Name Tags
Custom 1" or 1.5" gold or silver nametags can be ordered with either magnetic or pin backs and up to two or three lines of various sized text and fonts to meet your needs.
FAQ
Q: Can I bring my own paper for the Service Center to print on?
A: No. Since we have contracts with our printer providers to do regular maintenance on the machines whenever we need it, we are only allowed to use paper that we have purchased ourselves and know to be appropriate for the machines. We are always looking to expand our services, so if there is a high demand for expanded paper types, we're glad to meet that demand.
Q: Can I email my files to the Service Center to have printed ahead of time and then pay when I pick them up?
A: Email is definitely a welcome way to send us your files and we're happy to print them out for you. While we're in the process of exploring methods to make this a more streamlined and viable option, we currently are not there yet. We will still need to verify with you in person that we can go ahead with the prints before we commit any resources to them.
Q: What can I get laminated?
A: Our hot laminator can effectively laminate anything up to 1/32" while our cold lamination machine can handle items up to 1" thick. Our hot laminator is limited to projects which do not contain glitter, plastic pieces, metallic pieces, fresh glue, hot glue, or anything that increases the overall thickness of the project to more than 1/32". Our cold laminator can handle most materials provided the project is flat overall and contains no glitter or fresh glue. Small staples may be ok.
