University of Wisconsin - Stout

The Memorial Student Center has facilities to accommodate your meetings, conferences, workshops or catered functions. More than 15 attractive meeting rooms totaling approximately 34,000 square feet can be used for exhibit space, conferences, meetings, banquets and catered events. Our facilities can accommodate the small meetings of 10 to the larger conference of 800. The Memorial Student Center is centrally located on the campus. Architecture of the building is very unique with its ground level access to each floor. Ramped entrances make it handicapped accessible.

Crystal Ballroom

The elegant ballroom takes its name from the modern crystal chandeliers that adorn this room. Lighting can be varied to create a desired atmosphere, be it a meeting, conference, dance or catered event. Full-length folding panels allow this space to be partitioned into two or three sections depending upon your special occasions such as weddings, dinner dances, receptions, luncheons and the like.



Great Hall

Great HallThe Great Hall is the largest single facility in the Memorial Student Center. Accommodating up to 800 people comfortably, it is the site for major concerts, dances, lectures, conference exhibitions and catered functions. A 24' x 50' stage is housed within the hall for these special events. An audiovisual control room is also located in this area which is capable of handling a variety of requests. For conference breakout rooms or smaller functions, the Great Hall can be divided into four sections. It provides the versatility to meet your program needs.



Huff's

Huff's provides the university community with a unique facility aimed at supporting student organization programming as well as providing students with an alcohol-free facility for relaxation, social development and interaction.



Meeting Rooms

Eight attractive meeting rooms are located on the lower level. Each room is equipped with a presentation board which has a flip chart, bulletin board, chalkboard and screen. An overhead projector and portable lectern are also available in each room for your use. Three of these rooms- Maplewood, Oakwood and Cedarwood- offer full-length folding panels that allow these rooms to be used as one or two large areas or three individual ones to accommodate your specific needs.


Pawn Patio

A mini-amphitheater outside the Pawn area serves as a patio or as a stage for outdoor entertainment such as coffeehouse performances, films, dance groups, special music groups and catered activities. Also, other patio areas are available for use around the building. In addition to our facilities, we provide you with the highest level of professional service and the attention to detail which ensures the success of your event.



Conference and Reservations Office

Students wanting to reserve an individual or group meeting should contact the Reservation Office at 232-2320. Presentation equipment, audiovisual equipment, staging, microphones, TV's and various other technical equipment are available for your group or organization. For conferences and special events, the conference coordinator can assist with planning of reservations, lodging, parking, equipment and more. Call 232-5132 for assistance.

Student Organization Center

Participation in student organizations provides out-of-class opportunities for personal growth, exploration of new ideas, professional-level experiences and fun! More than 120 organizations are run by and for students.

The Student Organization Center provides a central resource facility for student organizations to meet with other organization members and plan activities. Services available to organizations include agency accounts (free checking accounts); a leadership resource center; lap top computers; a small conference space for meetings; reservations for display case; typing service; telephone messaging service; long distance telephone access; lockable storage space; limited cubicle/office space; bulk mailing rates for student organizations; permanent mailing address for student organizations; and limited copying service for student organizations.

Services available to all students from the center include appointment scheduling with campus attorney, off-campus housing information, registration for the STOUTREACH community service and ULEAD programs; and information about more than 100 recognized organizations.

The center's staff facilitate and produce entertainment through the "For Your Entertainment" board, cultural experiences and events; ULEAD leadership activities; STOUTREACH community service activities; and adviser orientation/training for faculty advisers and student organization officers.
