The Ally Center is home to all UW-Stout community members who are interested in exploring and affirming differences among us. Black Student Union, Hmong Stout Student Organization, Latinos Unidos, Out@Stout, Women's Studies Committee, Minority Faculty/Staff Network, and the LGBTQ Initiative committee meet at the Ally Center on a regular basis.
The Ally Center is also used for receptions in conjunction w/special events.
Ally Center resources are available to borrow (books, dvd's other culturally-related info).

Inter Group Dialogue Symposium
Sunday, January 20 and Monday, January 21, 2008
Sunday, 5:00-7:00pm, and all day Monday, 10:00am-8:00pm
Participants will spend time delving into the way community builds... everything from social group identity and how to taking a stand on issues, to communicating clearly with others via dialogue process. The end of day Monday will include participation in Martin Luther King Jr. Day dialogues, candle-light procession to Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts, and attendance at Community Tribute to Dr. King's works. THIS PROGRAM IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE ANY INTERESTED PERSONS.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day Tribute: "How is Menomonie a Beloved Community?"
Dialogues 4:30-6:00pm Memorial Student Center, UW-Stout
Choose from one of three dialogues - "Sustainability", "Non-Violent Communication" or Lessons from the "Letter from Birmingham Jail". Learn about the content and context of Dr. King's work. Immediately following the Dialogues, all participants are encouraged to join a candle-light procession to the Mabel Tainter Center for the Arts, and to participate in the community's musical tribute.
