IRC Mission and Goals
The International
Relations Club (IRC) has served as a cultural, social and educational
link since it was founded in 1964. All UW-Stout students are invited to
become members. IRC encourages interaction between international
students and U.S. students. International students have many
questions when they come to the United States and many things they want
to experience. IRC exists to help students in those areas. Meetings are
held once each month, and one or two other activities are organized each
month. IRC meetings and events are open to everyone in the Stout
community.
IRC GOALS
- Promote
international awareness at UW-Stout.
- Foster social
interactions between U.S. and international students.
- Provide activities
that allow international students firsthand experience in typical
American recreation.
- Organize events to
enhance cultural education.
Benefits
- Enhances
understanding and appreciation of the world and its diversity.
- American students
learn about other cultures by interacting with international
students and participating in IRC sponsored events.
- International
students serve as the cultural ambassadors of their respective
countries and are able to share information about their countries
with others students.
- Enhance
cross-cultural communication.
- All members may
form friendships for future overseas networking.
