The Student Chapter of ASID at the University of
Wisconsin-Stout is comprised of a number of dedicated
students enrolled in the Interior Design Concentration within
the Bachelor of Fine Arts program. A FIDER accredited program,
the concentration at UW-Stout provides a learning environment
that fosters creativity and collaboration between art, design,
and technical disciplines.
Our
goals as students enrolled in the Interior Design Concentration
within the Department of Art and Design are to uphold the
standards of professional designers through skill development,
theory, practice, and history; and to enhance the function
and quality of interior spaces for the purpose of improving
the quality of life, increasing productivity, and protecting
the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
These
goals are shared by ASID—a community of designers,
industry representatives, educators and students—commited
to advance the interior design profession and celebrate
the power of design. Headquartered in Washington D.C., its
more than 38,000 voluntary members and 11-member Board of
Directors engage in a variety of professional programs and
activities through a network of 48 chapters throughout the
United States and Canada. There are 285 student chapters
in the United States and abroad.
