The State of Wisconsin and the State of Minnesota have an agreement that you may attend a Wisconsin university and pay the same fees that you would pay to attend a Minnesota university.
To fill out a reciprocity form you can either go to the State of Minnesota reciprocity website, www.getreadyforcollege.org, and do the form electronically or to print the form. You can also request a form from the Student Business Services Office or the Financial Aid Office. The phone number for the Student Business Services Office is 715-232-1656 and there email address is sbservice@uwstout.edu. The phone number for Financial Aid is 715-232-1363 and their email is finaid@uwstout.edu. If you do the reciprocity form by paper, you will need to complete and mail the application before the last day of the first semester to the address on the form. The State of Minnesota will not grant reciprocity benefits retroactively. Remember to apply early to avoid complications.
If approved for reciprocity, you will be charged at the Minnesota resident tuition rate instead of non-resident rates.
Reciprocity recipients who attended and earned credit(s) during the 2006-2007 academic year will have their reciprocity benefits automatically renewed for the 2007-2008 academic year. (Please keep in mind that students who earned prior postsecondary credits but dropped out for more than 12 months must complete either the on-line or paper reciprocity application.)
