When will I receive my bill?
- Bills for the fall and spring semesters are mailed to the student's home address approximately 1-month before the start of the semester.
- The student will receive the initial billing by mail. ALL other bililngs for the term are sent via email to the student's campus email and posted on Access Stout under Archived Billing Statements.
What if I did not receive a bill?
- Check with the Registrations and Records Office, 109 Bowman Hall, 232-2121, to make sure the University has your current address.
- If you have registered after the bills were initiallly mailed, you can see your current balance on Access Stout under Account Summary by term.
- You can come to the Student Business Services and request a Statement of Account.
Where do I make payments on my account?
- Send payments to:

- You can also drop your payment off in Room 125M of the Administration Building. There is a night drop outside the front door for after hour payments.
- Student Business Services office hours are:
- Window: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
- Phone: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- Payments made in person or in the drop box must be made with personal checks, cashier's check, money orders, and travelers checks. Cash is also accepted if you pay in person.
- Payments can also be made at Access Stout with a Mastercard, Discover card, and American Express. There is a 2.8% convenience fee for using a credit/debit card and that will show up on your monthly credit/debit card statement.
When will I receive my refund?
- If a student account was overpaid, a refund will be issued within 2-3 days after the term begins.
- Any personal checks will delay refunds for 2 weeks.
- All refunds are deposited to the student's Stout One card and the student needs to activate the card and select a preference for their refund. (See What is the Stout One Card in Frequently Asked Questions for more information.)
What is the Stout One Card and how do I activate it?
- The Stout One Card is the official University ID card. All refunds processed from your student account, is deposited to your Stout One Card. For more information on your Stout One card, please contact the Stout One card office at 715-232-2887.

When is my tuition due?
- For fall and spring semesters tuition is due according to the following payment plan:
- Payment is due in full by the 5th day of the semester unless the student is using the Partial Payment Plan.
- Under the payment plan agreement, $200.00 will be due by the 5th day of the semester and the remaining balance is will be paid to the specific semester dates that are posted on the Student Busniess Services homepage.
- Winterm payments are as follows:
- There is no partial payment plan for Winterm and payment is due in full by the end of the 1st day of class.
- Summer session fees are as follows:
- There is no partial payment plan for summer and tuition is due in full by the end of the week of your 1st class.
Why is my balance larger than my original statement?
- Making changes in your registration, room assignments, or meal plans can result in a higher charge. You can check out your account summary by term by going to Access Stout.
- Applying for graduation.
- Residence life charges. (Damage to dorm rooms or residence halls.)
- Getting a parking permit.
- Orientation and placement testing fees.
If I am a Minnesota resident, don't I get a special rate for tuition? (Reciprocity)
- You would qualify for a rate reduction in your tuition only if you have filed for reciprocity. This is an agreement between the states of Wisconsin and Minnesota to reduce the rates of tuition. You can apply for reciprocity online with the state of Minnesota. Click here to apply.
