Tenants of Stout Technology Park can take advantage of a unique partnership with UW-Stout, providing companies with the full resources of a first-rate educational institution. The first university to receive the Malcolm Baldrige Award, UW-Stout has a proven commitment to quality in the education of our students. Part of this commitment involves developing close relationships with business and industry to provide real-world education opportunities.

UW-Stout faculty and students have been involved in a number of projects with Technology Park businesses and Technology Park tenants have offered resources to UW-Stout:

  • Faculty and students provided assistance through the development of computer modeling for plant layout for businesses in the park.
  • Faculty and students provided assistance to businesses through the development of ISO standards and assisting with ISO certification.
  • Businesses have utilized the ISTA-certified Packaging Research and Testing Center for packaging development, testing and evaluation. The Center provides product vibration, temperature, shock testing and more.
  • Faculty provided training assistance for an optic lens development project.
  • Faculty provided training assistance to businesses on CAD, CAM, CIM and Pro E engineering software programs.
  • University Research and Promotions Service has provided assistance to businesses on patent searches and obtaining specific grant opportunities.
  • Business representatives serve as adjunct professors to UW-Stout allowing access to the more than 125 labs on campus and the resources of the University Library.
  • Businesses have hired numerous students through business co-op and have hired graduates from a wide array of programs.
  • Numerous faculty have been hired as consultants to work with tenants in the park on research and development projects.
