Web 2.0 features in CommonSpot

As you may know, we're working in the beta (test) version of CommonSpot's next release, and will not make our own CommonSpot pages "live" until this version becomes official. As the release date gets closer, PaperThin updates the software more frequently to incorporate fixes for all of the bugs--we have had some weeks in September where we re-installed CommonSpot every day to accommodate all of the fixes. This is a bit disruptive, but is more efficient overall--we didn't want to spend our precious early-learning time on the older version of the software, only to re-learn once the new release came out.

We're excited about some of the new, Web 2.0 features that are available in CommonSpot 5.0, such as RSS feeds, blogs and wikis. These are features that are ubiquitous on the web now, but not so easy to administer for sites like ours, where we have legal, academic, security, and identity policies to consider when offering services and features. So having these built in to our web publishing system is a huge benefit.
