Scholarships valued at more than $600,000 have been awarded to 320 University of Wisconsin-Stout students through the Stout University Foundation.

Students received the awards recently during a reception at the Memorial Student Center. Many of the donors and members of the foundation board attended and presented the awards.

Established in 1962, the Stout University Foundation Scholarship Program has helped more than 7,750 students receive a college education. Through the financial support of alumni, parents, faculty and staff and friends of the university, the program has awarded more than $10 million over the years.

Mark Parsons, vice chancellor for University Advancement and Marketing and foundation executive director, said the scholarship event is the high point of the year for the Stout University Foundation.

“Raising money for scholarships is among our highest priorities. Our board is dedicated to helping students achieve their educational goals and career ambitions, thus helping to grow the economy and serve a global society,” Parsons said.
