More than 700 to receive diplomas at winter commencement

University of Wisconsin-Stout will hold winter commencement ceremonies for 707 students Saturday, Dec. 13, at Johnson Fieldhouse.

A total of 619 undergraduates and 88 graduate students will receive degrees at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. ceremonies.

The 9:30 a.m. ceremony will be for graduates from the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences and the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

The 2 p.m. ceremony will be for graduates from the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and the College of Management.

Chancellor Bob Meyer will address the graduates and confer degrees.

Deans of the various colleges will present diplomas. Jacalyn Weissenburger, interim provost and vice chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, will preside. Mark Parsons, vice chancellor for University Advancement and Marketing, will welcome the graduates into the Stout Alumni Association.

Music will be provided by the university jazz and symphonic bands, directed by Aaron M. Durst. Choral selections will be performed by the UW-Stout Chamber Choir, directed by Jerry Hui.

Commencement details

Doors open 45 minutes before each ceremony. Graduates should arrive no less than 45 minutes before their ceremony. Each ceremony is expected to last from 2 to 2½ hours. Receptions will immediately follow in room 50 of the Sports and Fitness Center. All graduates and guests are welcome. Tickets are required for ages three and older. Each graduate will receive five tickets, which can be picked up in room 140 of the Vocational Rehabilitation Building, 221 10th Ave. E. All ceremonies can be viewed via live feed from the UW-Stout commencement website.
