For the third year in a row, University of Wisconsin-Stout has posted record enrollment, according to new statistics released by the UW System.

UW-Stout’s official fall enrollment is 9,619. That compares to 9,535 in 2015-16 and 9,371 the year before. The previous record was 9,356 in 2011-12.

According to UW System statistics, over the last 10 years UW-Stout’s enrollment has increased 13.5 percent, from 8,477 in 2007-08 to 9,619 in 2016-17.

During that same time, enrollment in the entire UW System increased 1.2 percent and enrollment at the 11 regional campuses increased 5.5 percent.

“The efforts of a lot of people have gone into these extraordinary enrollment increases,” said Chancellor Bob Meyer. “But in the end, our enrollment depends on us offering prospective students the programs they want and know will lead to a good job after graduation.

“Our enrollment success is directly linked to the fact that 97.3 percent of our students are working within six months of graduation,” Meyer added.
