The importance of your UW-Stout e-mail account
The use of UW-Stout e-mail is essential for you to receive important and time sensitive information. The campus uses e-mail to communicate official business, program advisement, tuition bills, announcements, graduation information and grade reports. For students who enroll in online courses, all course related information is sent to your UW-Stout e-mail. If you are having trouble with your e-mail account you can call (715) 232-5000 or e-mail ask5000@uwstout.edu.
How do I activate my UW-Stout e-mail account?
Click on https://password.uwstout.edu to activate your student account.
Follow the instructions for “Activate New Account”. To activate your account you will need your university id number and your date of birth. You will then be prompted to enter security question to verify your identity should you ever forget your password. The top of the next page will tell you your username and you will be asked to set your new password.
How do I get answers to my UW-Stout e-mail questions?
The Ask5000 HelpDesk Knowledgebase can help answer any other email questions you may have. http://helpdesk.uwstout.edu/
What is Access Stout?
Access Stout is an online service that allows you to access information via the web 24 hours a day. Current students have the ability to search for available classes, view/print current and future class schedules, grades, GPA information and “unofficial” transcripts. You also have the ability to register for classes through this service by simply going to the UW-Stout web site. Click on “Access Stout” on the Quick Links bar and log in using your UW-Stout e-mail username/password.
How do I get my bills?
You will receive the initial billing by mail. All other billings for the term are sent via e-mail to the student's campus e-mail and posted on Access Stout under Archived Billing Statements. If you have any questions regarding billing, check: http://www.uwstout.edu/stubus/faq.html or e-mail conted@uwstout.edu.
How do I Access My Course Content?
Your online course may be delivered via traditional web pages or through a tool called Learn@UW-Stout. In Learn@UW-Stout, your username and password are the same as your Stout e-mail username and password.
How do I Login to my course at Learn@UWStout?
1. Visit: http://www3.uwstout.edu/lit/lts/learn/
2. Bookmark this site because you will access it every time you login to your class.
3. Click on “Log into Learn@UW-Stout (in the upper right corner). This will bring you to the login page.
4. Enter your UW-Stout username (without the @uwstout.edu, for example a user name would be doej) and your password. The password is the same password you use to log into your university Webmail.
Under Course Offering Name click on the link to your course.
(If you do not see that title listed, then click on the Search button and look for that title.)
Your instructor will email you additional information about how to begin the course a few days before the official course start date.
It is strongly recommended that you login to your course a week before the class begins to make sure the login process is working fine, and then check in daily during the first week. If you are going to be away from your computer for a few days during the course…please email your instructor now to discuss the dates and how you can work ahead.
For more information and help on logging in and using Learn@UW-Stout, please visit: https://uwstout.courses.wisconsin.edu/. Students can also call for specific help 24/7 at 1-888-HELPLUW or 1-608-264-HELP option #1.
How do I get my grades?
Grades are distributed only through Access Stout. Please see the “Grades” link. If you need a printed grade report, the Registration and Records Office will mail a paper copy of the grade report to your home address, but only if an online request form is completed by published deadline date. The form can be found on the Registration and Records Office home page. Only one grade report can be requested per semester and will only be mailed to the permanent (home) address. No exceptions will be made to this policy. If you simply need to verify your enrollment to a third party (i.e. insurance, good student discount, Great Lakes, etc.) and your individual grades are not required, please see information and instructions here: Enrollment Verification.
Payment Plan Agreement Form
All students must complete the University of Wisconsin payment plan agreement. Students who opt for the payment plan must make their first $200 payment at the end of the first week of classes. These dates are defined by the campus regular semesters and not the start date of individual courses. No payment plan is available for Summer Session or WinTerM.
Payment Plan Agreements can be done via the internet at Access Stout. For more information on the payment plan option, contact: UW-Stout Student Business Office (715) 232-1656, at sbservices@uwstout.edu.
How do I drop a course?
Students who wish to drop a course should discuss it with their instructor first. Any drop after the course has started must have the consent of the instructor. If the student decides to proceed with the drop, e-mail or mail a request to UW-Stout Outreach Services at conted@uwstout.edu that includes: the course number, title, student’s complete name, and student ID number. The refund schedule for withdrawals and drops can be found here: http://www.uwstout.edu/stubus/tuitionpayment.html#refundforwithdrawals
ID Card: Stout OneCard
All University of Wisconsin-Stout faculty, staff, and students will receive an official Stout OneCard in the mail at their home address. As soon as you receive your card, you will need to activate the card. Online activation is a quick and easy process where you set your preferences for receiving any refunds due from University of Wisconsin-Stout. The new Stout OneCard may also be used to provide access to the OneAccount—a user activated free checking/debit account accessible through the Stout OneCard. Visit the web site. for current information and disclosures.
Can I pay tuition with a credit card?
Campus policy has changed regarding credit card use. Only American Express or MasterCard may be used for campus sections, and must be paid through Access Stout.
