To create a desktop alias in Mac OS 10.4 without the word “alias” at the end:
- Highlight the icon for the file or program for which you want to create an alias.
- Press Command-Option and drag the highlighted icon to the desktop.
TIP #2 Rotate Clip Art in Word 2003
If you don’t like the direction in which a MS Word clip art image is facing, you can easily rotate it to suit your needs.
- In your document containing the clip art, click to select the image. Square selection handles will appear on the image corners.
- Go to the View menu - Toolbars, and select the Picture toolbar.
- On the Picture toolbar, click on the Rotate Left 90 button (looks like two triangles with an arrow above.)
- You can rotate the clip any way you want by either clicking on the Rotate Left 90 tool, or by pressing and dragging on the green rotation handle to manually and precisely rotate it.

WHAT OUR STUDENTS ARE SAYING...
About the Digital Photography Basics and Graphic Design for the Classroom online course:
“There have been two times in my educational experience when I recall completing a class knowing I've accomplished exactly what I set out to do, and this was one of them. This is the first class I've ever taken where my work truly had to speak for itself through technology."
~ Art Teacher
Wisconsin"I enjoyed reading and responding to posts from people in primary education, in the intermediate levels, in the secondary grades, and in administration, and from a wide variety of disciplines and subjects, not to mention locations spread across the globe."
~ 7 & 8 English, 8th Computer Teacher
Wisconsin"Feedback is frequent. The instructor was very helpful and suggestions and discussions from the students were informative. The hands-on activities had clear directions and opportunities for exploration."
~ AP Physics Teacher
Florida"This class forced me to use features of both the camera and software that I probably would not have looked at otherwise. I really have used the editing information. I don't print or upload a picture anymore without tweaking it in some form."
~ Media Specialist
Iowa"I knew virtually nothing about editing. Completing the activities has given me valuable knowledge and valuable experience in photo editing. It has been interesting to learn the possibilities of what can be done to an image."
~ Biology Teacher
Seoul, South Korea
