Mentoring Teachers
EDUC 744 941 3 semester hours graduate credit

This course studies the practice of mentoring as a process to provide effective on-the-job support and guidance to foster professional and personal growth for educators.
Explore methodology and activities for building trust, clarifying communication, and providing supportive feedback during collaborative planning, observation, and self-reflection. Includes strategies for goal setting, inventories, mentoring activities, timelines, evidence of collaboration, and an assessment plan. Review case studies and discuss a variety of typical mentoring dilemmas in both one-on-one and group settings.
Designed for K-12 classroom teachers, guidance counselors, media specialists, school administrators, and teachers supervising student teachers.
