What was the most meaningful and useful for you...

"This course was exactly what I wanted and needed. I signed up for it simply to move my teaching career in a new direction: multimedia journalism. Because of this course, I feel that I am equipped to include multimedia projects in my journalism courses at Madison Area Technical College….. I am happy with this class and very happy that it met my expectations. As a result, I feel my career as a community college instructor will move in the direction I feel is needed…. into the world of multimedia."

I really enjoyed the discussion board and realized the amazing power of the "one brain." I especially appreciate the online discussions because I am a thinker so the reading and thinktime allowed was a juicy opportunity for me.”

"This course is for the educator with an interest in digital video editing. If you want to make quality video productions, this is the class for you. Make some time in your busy schedule to take this important and necessary step to better videos. Books and references are nice, but this class makes your get your hands dirty. If you get involved, the learning improves."

"... the flexibility that working online offers. The readings have helped tremendously to clear up some misconceptions I had about copyright, video editing, etc. The resources provided have helped tremendously with my classes already."

"I wanted to be able to teach with this technology and to make a connection to my students’ world and their future. I wanted to be able to know how to make a movie, so I could then teach it to my students. Through this course I have gained all of that. I know how to use the medium, so now I can teach. I’ve also gotten ideas on how to incorporate this into my curriculum, and I’m planning for next year by writing a grant and modifying an old unit to incorporate this (with good luck, I’ll modify most of my units to incorporate this!)"
~ 8th Grade Teacher - Helena, Montana

"What I liked best was that it answered questions that I would never have known to ask...in otherwords, it enlightened me to what I actually needed to know about video in order to not only use it more effectively, but teach it!"
~ Art, Computer Art, Video Production Teacher - Wurzburg, Germany

"When I showed my completed video on our school's morning TV show, it really made quite an impression. It has helped get people on board the video editing bandwagon. My principal is going to ask our PTO to purchase a DV camcorder for the school. We have decided to use the proceeds from our Family Technology Night (computer raffle) to purchase what we need to create one digital video editing station in the Media Center. We would like to start a video editing club next year, and let students produce videos for our TV show. My goal is to produce a video to show our school board next year."
~ Media Specialist from Illinois

"I have been designated the Point of Contact for video production for my school district. I imagine it’s related to all the ruckus I've been making about getting a video editing system for my school. Anyway, I'm really going to push for video equipment at all the schools in the district. I will be offering some in-service training for video at the beginning of next school year so the information from this course is very valuable."
~ Educational Technologist from Germany

"What has been most useful in my classroom is the ability to get to know how some of our new equipment works. Without this course I think the new equipment might have gathered some dust, but now we are all so anxious about getting to use the video editing equipment."
~ Middle School Math Teacher -Reading, Massachusetts

"I have found that being able to work at my own time is helpful because I am 10,000 miles from the United States and on completely different time--about twelve hours ahead.

I also appreciate the positive style of the instructor. Her email persona is very friendly and helpful."
~ Primary Librarian -Republic of Singapore

"Having another teacher in the building taking the same course is just a joy. We talk about assignments and how we will use them in our school. I do not feel I am alone, between the two of us we find the answers to everything. I have never taken an online course before and was concerned about it. The best part is that the class is tailored to each individual teacher in their own individual school situation."
~ High School Media Specialist - Charles City, Iowa

"The things that I’ve enjoyed about the class include: getting the viewpoints of other people, adding to my useful Website collection, and gathering more information in regard to digital “anything” in the classroom."
~ AEA Technology Services Consultant - Clear Lake, Iowa

"The technical information and formatting information concerning compression, software and codecs was all a blurrrrrrrr to me before this course. This course has cleared the video waves in order to put together a video course for my teachers and students."
~ Middle School Educational Technologist - Tokyo, Japan

"This is a wonderful introduction to a new skill and tool that is still in the future for me and my school."
~ Elementary Media Specialist - Cedar Rapids, Iowa
